Who are we?

AICC stands for Australian Indian Christian Church. AICC has been located at 200 The Horsley Drive in Fairfield NSW for more than 20 years. The church was established by Reverend John Pillay and his wife Sharda Pillay in the beginning of 2000. The humble start of the church was from their home garage and now has more than 200 members in this AOG accredited Christian church.

Through the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, the church has seen incredible growth with two services on Sunday, Northwest Fellowship and Southwest Fellowship. The senior pastors, Rev John Pillay and Pastor Matthew Waqanivalu, oversees all the ministries that operate within the principles contained in the Word of God and the AOG guidelines.

Everyone is welcome to join us for worship and if you have a need or prayer request, please feel free to reach out using our contact us form.

Our services are on Sunday morning at 9:30am and Sunday evening at 5:00pm.

We look forward to seeing you here!

Reverend John Pillay

Rev John Pillay, a pillar of AICC church, is an incredible human being with a unique background. His journey from upbringing in an Indian religion to spiritually filled Christian pastor is both transformative and inspiring. His exposure to various belief systems in his homeland Fiji and Sydney deepened his understanding of spirituality and broadened his perspective to see God and is felt in his sermons. Scarce resources, facilities and local resistance did not play deterrents to his early years of evangelism in Fiji, strengthened and motivated him instead to serve the Almighty.

Since arriving in Australia in the early 1980s, his firm belief in God led him to commence fellowship. From humble beginnings in a garage to patiently waiting to build a church which epitomised his vision of “reaching the unreachable at any cost” despite facing umpteen hurdles and setbacks enroute to a pinnacle was impossible without his unwavering belief in God and commitment to the congregation.

Despite his impressive theological knowledge, Rev John remains unassuming. His approach to build new generation of leaders and readiness to listen to others is reflective of his true leadership. His gentle demeanour and approachability make him a beloved figure within the congregation especially with children for whom he is a beloved grandfather. Teachings emphasizing through practical applications and encouraging people from all sorts to live out their faith on daily basis, he endeavours to reach everyone’s heart in their spiritual growth.

As an evangelical luminary, he navigates the complexities of contemporary culture while remaining anchored in the timeless truths of scripture. His exegetical prowess enables him to mine biblical texts for profound insights, bridging ancient contexts with modern dilemmas. His fulfillment of vision fervors into nurturing and mobilising church in conducting outreaches and cross-cultural activities.

His dedication to extend biblical and humanly support in people’s journeys – at their pinnacle or nadir, underpins his ministry works. His prolific tutelage is inspirational, motivational, encouraging and uplifting for future leaders.

Pastor Matthew Waqanivalu

Pastor Matthew’s journey into ministry unfolded organically, from serving in various capacities within the church to planting new congregations. In 1999, he made the pivotal decision to retire from his former profession and fully devote himself to answering God’s call as an associate pastor and high school chaplain.

Guided by God’s calling and endowed with gifts of pastoral care, teaching, and evangelism, Pastor Matthew stepped into leadership with a heart devoted to nurturing souls. As an associate pastor, his role encompasses preaching, teaching, and providing administrative support as the church’s secretary.

At the core of Pastor Matthew’s ministry lies a deep belief in the transformative power of an intimate relationship with God. He is passionate about guiding individuals towards a profound understanding of their identity and purpose. Through compassionate pastoral care, he strives to empower others to embark on their journey of self-discovery and spiritual growth.

As individuals navigate through life’s challenges and triumphs, Pastor Matthew reminds them that they’re not alone. It’s his privilege to walk alongside them, offering support, encouragement, and guidance every step of the way. Together, let’s delve deeper into God’s love and uncover the boundless blessings He has in store for each of us.
